Bella Babes Participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day!
by Michele Rodinsky on 10/14/11
This October we celebrate all those we have lost and those who have suffered, survived, and lived to tell their story of fighting breast cancer. Team Bella Babes participated in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day in San Francisco the weekend of September 11th, 2011. What a journey we had!
It all started with breakfast burritos at my house at 4:15 AM on Friday the 9th. We met and made our way to the Cow Palace for check-in. At the opening ceremony we celebrated survivors and shed tears of joy and sorrow for those who were walking in memory of loved ones lost. My dear friend Freida celebrated 5 years remission the week after our walk!
What a sense of community and inspiration surrounded us for the entire weekend! We had San Jose P.D. escorting us on bikes and, as they would ride by, words of encouragement shouted out and kept us going until the next pitstop. Thank you San Jose Police!! The Oakland Fire Department came out to show their support on the second day of our walk. We took pictures with them, and they too had words of inspiration and encouragement. It gave our team the lift we needed to pursue the next 10 miles. Thank you Oakland Fire Fighters!!
I am especially proud of Team Bella Babes. Our goal was to raise $15,000, and our final number was $14,150. WOW!! We each found our inner strength to move forward even though we were exhausted and our feet were sore from walking 20 miles a day up and down the hills of San Francisco. This pain though is nothing compared to fighting for your life with cancer. 1500 participants, $3.9 million raised, and more lives saved. Goal accomplished with pride, love, and great memories.
We celebrate the beauty in you.
Blessings,
Michele

Redken Symposium 2011
by Michele Rodinsky on 01/20/11
January, 2011 Bella Capelli Salon- Have you ever wished you could travel with Doc Brown and Marty McFly "bank to the future" and see what's in-store? Will there be flying cars, time machines? Time will tell, but as far as the future of hair, Michele Rodinsky and Natalie Walker from Bella Capelli Salon can fill you in! Rodinsky and Walker attended the 2011 Redken Symposium in Las Vegas, NV, and has brought back the latest haircare, styling, and haircolor techniques and inspiration to Campbell!
"Redken Symposium is the industry most inspiring, award-winning educational event, attended by more than 8,000 stylists from around the world," says Christine Schuster, Senior Vice President of Education for Redken. "During Symposium, stylists learn the latest trends, and creative color, design and finishing techniques to advance their skills and inspire YOUR future!"
For three days Rodinsky and Walker, together with other salon professionals from all over the world, was inspired by world-renowned educators in the industry. Classes included Color & Elegance, where attendees learned to ready clients for their own red carpet event; 360 degree finishing, where avant-garde styles were "underdressed" so stylists can translate them for their clients; and Rut Rebellion where stylists were encouraged to breakout of their rut and be inspired by new tools and techniques.
Clients interested in a new look, a color consultation, or the latest trends in hair can call Bella Capelli Salon at 408-371-2041 to book and appointment.
